Backyard Ice was formed in 2010 to promote a way in which families can get outside, do something active together, and enjoy the fresh winter air with each other and friends alike. Lasting memories will be created, and maybe a few new traditions will be as well to pass on for years to come.

Backyard ice rinks have grown in popularity recent years, and with that have come great innovations and resources to make it easier than ever for anyone to enjoy their very own backyard ice rink, on just about any budget.

Backyard Ice has teamed up with NiceRink™, a supplier of backyard and outdoor rink products in North America, to be an authorized distributor and certified installer in the Central New England area.

In promoting the greatness of backyard ice rinks, the friendships that are created with them, the freedom that allows each of us to enjoy them, and the luxury that even allows us to build one in the first place, Backyard Ice has and will continue to develop personal, commercial, and charitable relationships to assist in propelling this “hobby” into the cultural mainstream while helping those less fortunate than ourselves. It’s a win-win situation all around.

Starting with the inaugural 2010-2011 backyard ice rink season, Backyard Ice will give 10% of ALL profits directly to our charitable partner, Restore Hockey .  Headquartered in Pepperell, MA, Restore Hockey’s mission is to promote the game of hockey in a manner that embraces access, opportunity, and affordability, while giving new life to equipment that has helped build its foundation.  They act as an agent of hockey through the recovery and restoration of discarded equipment so that it can be used as a low cost, reusable resource in promotion of the game.  Backyard Ice assists Restore Hockey by making financial donations as well as organizing equipment collection events at local backyard ice rinks.  Please join Backyard Ice and donate to Restore Hockey.
